i know from the amapola flower, but every country prohibits the grow of these flowers, where are the poppy seeds in my muffin coming from??

I could be wrong, but aren't they from a different species/strain of plant than the poppy that produces opium?

Turkey grows a good deal and a lot of them. Poppy seed pastry is actual remarkable. Get it at a Russian or Armenian Bakery. The opium poppy, Papaver somniferum, is grown for opium, opiates or seeds to be used in cooking and baking, eg. Hungarian Poppy seed rolls.

...poppy seeds... u do realise that u can grow the flowers yourself... well at-least u can in Australia... the flower... or as we call it over here... the poppy is our symbol for remembrance day... thats a day that we remember those who fell fighting for other countries...
