Well, Jesus took on the nature of a man. He expressed God's love. When you looked at Christ, you saw the love and truth of GOD. If you saw God face-to-face in ALL his divine, eternal glory, you would most certainly die. You could not behold such a sight. That's why Christ came in the flesh, so that we WOULD be able to see Him. With man, things are impossible, but with GOD, ALL things are possible.

While it is true that the ancient Jews thought that if you saw the face of God you would, they have sought face of God for millenia.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Holy Trinity, and gave us the chance to safely look upon the human face of God.

Jesus said, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." (John 14:9)

With love in Christ.

In a way, when you become a christian, the old man does die away. And you become like Christ and are filled with the holy spirit. That is one way of looking at it!

But we should learn, from the bible, that the death that the people want us to fear is not the death that God warns us of!

The Gospel of John tells us Jesus is the image of his Father.

Jesus is God too, and he has a viewable, human face.

What is so difficult to understand here?

Do you belong to some sort of a Bible literalist cult, or something?
