my puppy won't poop!?

And no, there is no mother. Just the puppy. It's been almost 2 full days now, but he seems to be eating just as much as before and not in any discomfort...he's always cold like a chiuaua, but that's supposed to be normal for his breed. Should I wait a little longer seeing as he seems fine? or rush him to the vet??

I would take him in, Your puppy could have eaten a sock or something and it is blocking his intestine. They can usually pass anything my dog ate a pop can and it came out without hurting him, but when he got ahold of a sock they allmost had to operate on him. They ended up giving him something that broke it down enough. Hope you have money for X-rays. Good luck

When the owner is trying to communicate a command, or stop the dog from barking, they will blow on their whistle when they want to communicate a command to the dog. The benefit of this is that the humans can't hear this noise, but the dog can hear it, and they will learn to associate the sound with a command.

Dog training techniques aren't hard to incorporate, but they are something that absolutely must be incorporated from the time a dog owner brings their new dog home. Yes your puppy is most likely eating poop. Believe it or not it is a natural instinct for a puppy to eat poop. In the wild a mother dog and her puppies would be confined to a small den. When the dogs needed to poop it would make a mess of the den, so, mother nature intervened and made it part of their diet. This does two things. First it keeps the den clean and second it provides a source of nutrients for the pups. Dogs will grow out of eating other dogs do do, but a natural part of a dogs diet is animal do do. Dogs are not hunters, they are scavengers and like most scavengers they eat what they find.

The dogs specially pups do show symptoms of constipation at a young age specially when not with their mothers who helped in stimulating in bowel movements.

1. If giving him dog food or solid food change to semi sold food and add milk.

2. Ensure dog is near a source of drinking water at all times.

3. Get a bottle of Liquid Paraffin from the Chemist and add 1 tea spoon to his food, you will find it works wonders. If still no effect then try another spoon with evening food normally it should work by this time. Discontinue after that. It can then be given say once a week if he strains and has constipation problems.

4. if this still does not work then u may have to take him to a vet to check for obstruction or other problems in the digestive tract.

its pretty common actually they do it because they're mother did it when they were babies, to clean up their poop. so they think that they should. They usually grow out of it but to make it an easier and faster process, the less time they have to contemplate eating it the better. Which isnt super convenient for you but thats what i had to do w/ both of my dogs. When you bring them out, watch them go and then bring them in again OR pick up the poop asap, as for the cat poop you could get a litter box w/ a cover. that might help.

Be cautious and take him to the vet. My neighbors dog when she gave away her first litter one of the puppys that she kept had the same problem, come to find out it had intestinal blockage and needed surgery. Dont freak out and go nuts just take the puppy to the vet and get him checked out. Have the vet do a full once over just to make sure nothings wrong or gonna go wrong with the puppy in the long run.

I would take him to the Vet. They have glands by their tails that get plugged up and need to be cleaned out. My dog just had the same problem. the Vet said to add some fiber to her diet. The Vet suggested Metamucel. A half a teaspoon twice a day.

they have doggie constipation medication you can get at your vet or your local pet store! You can always just call your vet (ask to talk to the doctor) for help instead of going in with all those fees they'll just tell you to buy him constipation meds and wait it out!
