Because our society also says that sex is wrong unless you're married, making some fear it. If it's new to them then they don't really know from experience and thus aren't as confident and become shy about it. For some people, they aren't sure if they're good at it or if they're doing it right, so they're kind of shy about it-or they're just shy in general. If you're young and are shy, that's probably the reason-you're young, you don't know if you're in the wrong or not. People are afraid of sex or talking about sex, maybe because they think they're dirty if they do. They may think this because that's what they were told as a kid or from their peers. I'd probably say overall people are shy of sex because it's either new to them or they're just not confident about it and they fear it in some personal way.

wait till you feed a family for 20+ years, change countless diapers, pay for dentists, doc. food, cloths etc... then lets talk about wreckless, unbridled sex in the elevators, parks, mountain meadows... not counting STD and alimony or sex with underage girls...heck... she looked 18 not 14.... (gosh, what a stupid past I lived... fun.... but ......)

what you say has a ring of truth, I used too feel the same way and wish I had a partner that was like that but I tell my wife if we both were as bad as I was our kids would starve to death as we would always be in the bedroom humping our brains out, ...... but it's great to have those that tend to keep it in a perspective of there is more too life then humping...

They are unsure of themselves and gauge love with sex.

Sex is physical and love is emotional, some people and to tell you that one is the other. It's not true. The truth is sex is sex.but only amplifies trhe feeling of love.

Love it msterious as it is fleeting it's like trying to contain a shadow, but the truth is, itr's the most important and least understood thing. Physical love only puts a form to it. It's all we have.

Society tells us from day 1 to be. But consider: two latent effects (both beneficial) come from this.

1. Sex is learned to be respected (I hope). Choosing a suitable partner should be important. Not to say losing your virginity or a no-strings-attached romp is inexcusable, which leads me to

2. The "taboo" nature adds excitement to the act itself. It's almost a rebellion thing, esp. when younger. "I shouldn't be doing this, but it's really fun."

You mean do it like dogs out in public? Sex should be private betwen 2 people who supposedly are bonded to each other. To just do it like dogs with anybody wouldnt be good for the family or the society.
