The best way to tackle them and keep them away as soon as possible is:
tell them you have a card from their company.
If you get call from ICICI tell them you already have a ICICI bank credit card, similarly for HSBC or any other.
I'm following this technique only, now the calls that I am getting is considerably reduced. Try this.

From what a friend told me who worked at places like these. There is a list with your name on a computer and if you just say no they will put you on the bottom of the list and your name will come back up on another persons computer to call you back. You got to tell them to take you off the list and your name and number should be deleted from there. If they don't take you off then, just ask to speak to their supervisor and chew them out

Put your number(s) on the "Do Not Call" Registry. The only people then allowed to telemarket you are politicians, non-profits, and companies you already do business with. Click on the link below. We did this the DAY it was made available and we get on average 2 telemarketing calls/week.
