I don't think so, I think it is the lyrics that count - and what do the words say. There are many Christian Heavy Metal bands, and I think it is very possible to do Heavy Metal music to the Bible lyrics, there are plenty of Scriptures that would rock really well to Heavy Metal and then why would they think that is of the devil. That is all BILL GOTHARD's opinion, and I don't agree with him. Read the Bible, read what Bill Gothard has to say form your own opinion. Bands like Stryper have really tried hard to keep the lyrics upright. I don't think that all heay metal is of the devil, but some is. There's good Christian bands in all the Metal genre's - you know the answer to this question already.

Heavy metal consists of a guitar player, a bass guitarist, drums, and a vocalist. If this is from the devil, then so are churches who have musicians that play the SAME instruments. However, it's the lyrical content which can become evil. Personally, I think Rap music is more evil. It's widely more popular and global than heavy metal ever was/is.

Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that emerged as a defined musical style in the 1970s, having its roots in hard rock bands which, between 1967 and 1974, mixed blues and rock to create a hybrid with a thick, heavy, guitar-and-drums-centered sound, characterised by the use of highly-amplified distortion. Out of heavy metal various subgenres later evolved, many of which are referred to simply as "metal". As a result, "heavy metal" now has two distinct meanings: either the genre and all of its subgenres, or the original heavy metal bands of the 1970s style sometimes dubbed "traditional metal", as exemplified by Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Blue Ãyster Cult and Black Sabbath.
Heavy metal began gaining popularity in the 1970s and 1980s, at which time many of the now existing subgenres first evolved. Heavy metal has a large world-wide following of fans known by terms such as "metalheads" and "headbangers".

No.
What a stupid question.
I was going to try to explain why it isn't, but really, if you're not going to go to the trouble to at least listen to some of it or research before you ask a question like that, I don't know what to tell you. Are there some bands who discuss Satan and similar themes in their lyrics? Yes, there are. And southern rock artist Charlie Daniels did a song called "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." I don't hear anyone accusing southern rock of being Satanist.

no! and if it were true then heavy metal, country, rock, rap, hip hop, orchestra, classical, oldies, ALL MUSIC IS THE SAME! IT'S JUST A VARIETY OF MUSIC. MANY PEOPLE CALL THIS DEVIL MUSIC OR JUST SCREAMING, BUT IF PEOPLE WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THE WORDS AND UNDERSTAND IT, THEN EVERYONE WOULD LEARN TO APPRECIATE THAT ALL MUSIC IS BOTH WRITTEN AND PLAYED FROM THE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS OF SOMETHING REAL. IF PEOPLE CAN'T UNDERSTAND THAT, THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO APPRECIATE MUSIC PERIOD.

Uh, generally speaking - no. I could write many, many pages of "why", so unless you want a very thorough education on the many different sub-genres of heavy metal, I think we should leave it at a simple 'no'.

No..., of course not.
Have you not heard of Christian Heavy Metal?
Satan wouldn't be so stupid to invent non-mainstream music to mind-wash people.
Pop is the real music of the devil. Pop is all about sex, flauting your sex, dressing skimpy, more sex sex sex, what more could satan ask for?

I don't think all of it is myself. Pay attention to the lyrics. What is the song saying??? Just because it's loud and rocks doesn't make it bad. Any kind of music can be of Satan. Even country music. Pop, rap, dance. All of them. Just use your instinct. If it feels wrong or you feel guilt then it is probably wrong.

Simple answer, no, deffinitely not, and if it is, so what and who cares. Music is an expresion of humanity and personal identity. It is an art form and nothing more. I don't personally like it, but I have no problems with those who do.
