I used dreft with my first child, but with my second I never used and she did just fine with regular detergent. Unless she has sensitive skin go ahead and use regular detergent.

How funny, I like your question. I stoped as soon as I moved which my children was like 8 months close to nine. I switch because the new state or should I say area I stayed in did not sale dreft. So what I did was I used my regular which was All then I did an extra water cycle to get all that harsh detergent off. Hope I helped

I never used Dreft...It's ok to use regular detergent that is dye and fragerance free. The same goes for dryer sheets. All and Tide make them this way. I'm sure others do to but these are the 2 I used. I now use regular. I started that around the time my daughter was 2.

I stopped after 3 months- however my birth instructor made a good point about spending the $$ on a separate detergent- Unless you are washing all the clothes ( yours and the baby's) in the dreft you baby is in constant contact with regular detergent everyday anyway. For example- when you hold her- she is touching your clothes- and it does not bother her. The instructor said there was no need to separate wash the babies clothes. I did anyway because I had some given to me and my mother in law insisted on it- but switched around 3 mo and my daughter was fine!
Good luck!

Whenever you feel like it, use regular detergent. Try it on one or two items (throw them in with your stuff) and see if the baby has a reaction.
The only reason we use the Dreft is because of baby's sensitive skin, and some kids have a tough time with the harshness of regular detergent. For others, it's no big deal :)

It depends on your child's skin. I have a cousin who has to still use dreft on her 7 year olds clothes because she has horribly sensitive skin. If you do your cost research in a lot of areas baby detergent is less expensive than the other "sensitive skin" or organic detergents. If you child had beautiful skin then you probably didn't really ever need to use it.

If you're concerned about using harsh detergents or heavily perfumed/fragranced detergents on your child's clothing and bedding, switch to any kind of detergent that ends with "Free" as in Cheer Free, Wisk Free, Tide Free etc, as they are free of detergents and other harsh additives that only lend to the fragrance factor. These types of free detergents are recommended by most pediatricians, as products like Dreft and other baby detergents are chock full of perfumes and fragrances, and are always more expensive. HTH!

I used one bottle of dreft and that was it. And I only used it because someone gave it to me. After that, it was Gain. What I do use even now is the Dreft Pre-Treater. It works GREAT on baby poop and puke!! Also, I don't use bleach or liquid fabric softener in my baby's laundry. Just Gain, and a dryer sheet.

Wash a t shirt in regular detergent and if there is no reaction then stop using it. I only used baby detergent until the first box was gone.
