Actually the Altima is mid size Like Ford Fusion, and Chrysler's Sebring. The Altima also offers the most powerful 3.5 liter V-6 engine and five speed automatic available, It really go's. And for economy minded a nice 2.5 liter Four cyl. engine. The new larger Sentra compares with the cars you listed

The Nissan Altima is the equivalent to the Japanese-spec Teana. It's a near-luxury car, by the way. The Altima was first introduced in 1993 as a compact car, replacing the Stanza in its lineup. It became a mid-sized car in its 2002 redesign.
