I signed up to bring in dougnut holes for my sons Halloween Party...easy right! Well then the teacher sends a note home reminding me w/ a note at the bottom saying NO NUTS!! I get no bringing in the ones with chopped nuts on them, but can I find dougnut holes that have not been made or baked in a enviroment w. nuts or near them? If so where & what brand? I really do not want a child getting terably sick due to my ignorance, thanks

The teacher requested dougnuts, so I could not be sued.

Most store brands will have a label that states "may contain traces of nuts or nut products" I understand that it is hard to find things that do not have nuts or have been around nuts, my daughter has a nut allergy so I know what it is like to try and find things without nuts, your best bet is to bring something eles that is either homemade (cookies or cupcakes) But remember if you make something and if anyone in your family has eaten peanut butter, make sure that nothing you use i.e. butter or margerine has come in contact with that peanut butter. Or send something pre-packaged i.e. small chocolate bars the kit kat or smartie -roundtree brands are safe. Alot of products have the peanut free label on them if they are made in a peanut free factory. Good Luck and have a safe Halloween party.

I wouldn't trust any doughnuts from a store or bakery, many others have nuts and may have come in contact. They are only safe is made in a completely "nut free zone"

Go to a bakery and ask them if they have something that does not contain nuts and is made seperate from things that are prepared with nuts. Maybe go to a food CO-OP instead.

Check with Krispy Kreme. They are almost always peanut free but you have to ask your local location.
Thank you for being so cautious!

make cupcakes instead at home. read labels, and just tell the teacher you went to the donut shops and they said they cannot guarantee they wont have peanut interaction. make cupcakes or cookies with Halloween faces or something.

my sister is allergic to peanuts, and if this child is anywhere near as allergic as she is, i'd consider bagels in exchange for an ambulance and lawsuit
