Lose of hearing isn't really a symptom of strep throat, so I see two options. You may have a secondary infection going on in your ear, or you also may be suffering a side effect from the antibiotic. Aminoglycosides, a class of antibiotics, have been known to cause temporary hearing loss.
Either way, this is something you should to talk to your doctor about right away.

From personal experience I can tell you that you most likely have a strep infection in your ear. This has happened to me a couple of times and required visits to an ear, nose and throat specialist.

It's congestion. I used to get clogged ears when I got colds. I didn't lose most of my hearing, more like 1/3 to 1/2. You might have more inflamation around the ear drum than I did. You might need some anti-inflamatory med like prednizone. See a doctor if it persists.

If you are not on an antibiotic, please go see your doctor, strep can turn into a worse condition called scarlet fever, and it can be deadly, you need penicillin unless you are allergic to pcn then your doctor will prescribe something else, if you lost your hearing then the virus has intensified and you need to go quickly to the Doctor.
