in our world today would kill to have that kind of evidence that Jesus gave andrew? Andrew did say he wouldnt believe Jesus had risen until he could touch the holes in his hands and the gash in his side.

That was Thomas actually.

Your question answers itself. People would kill for what he saw. He did see it.

Good question and I do have a view on an answer that is good enough for me.

I really wonder if Thomas was really doubting Thomas as they say or was he a man who really wanted to verify the facts with proof that even he could not deny. It sems to me that maybe Thomas did not rely only on the accounts of other but wanted a view he could touch, feel, and experience first hand. If it was a fact that Jesus did rise, why could Jesus not show himself to Thomas. [I think he had a valid point].

I see this view because THomas is the only one who did make a great comment misunderstood by most and even quoted by one of these answers as being proof that Jesus is God Almighty in error. Most say that Thomas said My God when he actually said my Elohim. An Elohim is a god made god by God. That is to say an Elohim is a creature created by God in the image, after the likeness of God. Thus the words of Thomas do not say Jesus is God Almighty, they say Jesus is not God Almighty. Too bad most fo not really study the Bible carefully.

My friend I see in Thomas a man who did want absolute proof and when it was accepted he want all the way to explain his deep understanding that most do not see. I really think most do see Thomas in the wrong view or the wrong light.

Please do see from your own view. Is is possible for the dead to rise in your own opinion. Your question seems to indicate that idea is hard to believe for you.

For me that is not an easy thing to accept without proof and for now my proof is based upon faith not in anything but that My God can and will do what He says He will do. Likewise I do believe that Jesus is the true son of God and did rise from the dead.

Ok that is my opinion, If you can not accept it, it is ok. Each must have his own opinion.

Do have a good day and do smile as you do study the Bible.

It was THomas, not Anderw (hence the phrase doubting Thomas)

But that very verse has 2 more real points.

1) Thomas replied - My Lord, and My God!
There it is - proof of Jesus' divinity, he did not deny it! He was God, not a prophet, not a serven tof God, but God incarnate.

2) Jesus told him you are correct, by seeing this. Then he continued to say " Blessed are those who believe, and do not see"

That was Thomas, dear, but yes, you're right.... Don't forget, though what Jesus said...He said, "Thomas, you see and believe, but blessed are they who do not see, and yet believe".
