Yes Christian scolars afraid to debate in an open forum with the Islamic scholars,because I think,they know that their holy book Bible has many controvercies,inconsistencies and unclear verses that is not in line with the verses in holy book Al Qur'an.
But I have read a book called "The Choice" written by Ahmed Deedat a welknown muslim autodidact in South Africa.He made a comparative study in depth between Bible and Qur'an.He showed the readers its contovercies and its inconsistencies..He distributed also his video when he held a public forum in Scandinavia and in England with Christian scholars at a church.
There were so many attendants and they gave a chance for asking about religion to him and to the clergy man.But the clergy man was very hatred and angered to Ahmed because he could not show a verse in the Bible which contained a direct saying of Yesus that his followers should pray to him as a son of God.
At the end of that public forum there was not a conclusion which religion is correct.Each party is still holding that his religion is correct and better than other religion.
I read also a book written by a formerly a fanatic Catholic scholar Ms Hj Irene Handono .Her book has a tittle "Islam Menghujat" or "Islam Claim".She showed in her book that almost 90 % of the contents of Bible are false verses..She regarded that Qur'an are logic,genuine and consistent..So she converted her religion into Islam some years ago.

Because most of todays christian scholars are charasmatic...meaning the last thing they want to do is hurt anybodies feelings. They don't want to tell the whole truth about islam. That it is an evil religion made up by a merchant false prophet who slaughtered and robbed Europeans in his time for wealth and gain. Yes, you have to have some brass balls to say the great forgotten truths. The scholars of today alway mention....."turn the other cheek"....but they forget.....I came not to bring peace, but a sword"...{ Jesus}. Give me some scholars, saints, even popes of the past centuries and you'll find out what it means to defend the true christian faith and put these islamic scholars in the dung.

I've never seen a Christian scholar back down from an Islamic scholar. I have, however, seen Islamic scholars talk in circles and make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

That's because the Islamic leaders have made a law that anyone who speaks against their religion will be killed. This is really dumb.

I don't think it is true either. But the Bible speaks for itself. The best way to have the religions debate each other is for someone to try out the religions being compared and see which one works the best. Christianity is a religion of faith. It takes faith for God to work in your life and for Him to do the things he promises in His Word.

because islamic scholars lie, yell, and don't let Christians speak. besides, they tend to bring their thugs along with them , supposedly for protection. they allow no debate, rather just start a diatribe on how they will see all christians dead or converted.
