After Peter's profession of faith in Jesus (he said, when Jesus asked "who do you say that I am?" "you are the Christ, the son of the living God"), Jesus said "upon this rock I will build my church". The "rock" Jesus was referring to was the faith that Peter professed. Since that day, all those who believe what Peter believed....are a member of the Lord's "church".

Do you mean the body of Chris? The Church of Jesus consists of all those who believe in Jesus as Lord and (Messiah).
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Luke 10;19, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
I Cr 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!!

Jesus said, "Tear down this temple and in three days I will build it up again..." Then they did exactly that, crucifying Him...and He rose again on the third day making known at that time the revelation that the temple to which He had referred was not a physical temple but a spiritual one. For it was His body, of which we as believers are all members!
