I'm not a Christian but I'd like to say that Solon was on of the greatest contributors to freedom loving people.
He not only created a constitution for Athens in 594 B.C.E. but was also the first author of any form of Ten Commandments which was well before Moses time.
They are:
1. Trust good character more than promises.
2. Do not speak falsely.
3. Do good things.
4. Do not be hasty in making friends, but do not abandon them once made.
5. Learn to obey before you command.
6. When giving advice, do not recommend what is most pleasing, but what is most useful.
7. Make reason your supreme commander.
8. Do not associate with people who do bad things.
9. Honor the gods.
10. Have regard for your parents.

human beings used it to justify something that had truly no longer something to do with atheism. Kinda like they do with Christianity or the different set of non secular beliefs that seem based upon "the golden rule". Why i visit work out that similarity and others can't i detect confusing. extra so at the same time as those who do not even declare to stay with a particular conception attempt to outline it for someone else and could argue that with the different man or woman ad infinitum. i did not see your different question yet desire it replaced into in addition phrased to split politics and authorities as excluded and that Christianity is listed as in basic terms a conception in Christ and not in any respect something extra or below that.

Atheism has helped to illustrate the folly of a worldly existence without God. Many atheists have come back to Christianity the better for it. Humanism has wrought many good wonders in the world, but ultimately, mankind needs spiritual food.

I can't think of any,
To me, if you say there is no god,
you are then saying,
well you have no obligation to god.
and people who feel they have no obligation to a higher power often feel they are the authority on what is right and wrong
and then engage in all kinda activity.
for example,
I can image you average aethist beleives that premarital sex is ok.
now you have a bunch of people who are doing this,
and then comes the problems,
unwanted kids,
kids with one parrent ( making finanical hardship on the mate with the kids)
diseases,
and all the other problems that can come in
In the unwillingness to suppose there is a higher moral force than themselves, they open up cans of worms that they didn't see coming....
God built us, he knows how we should live,
and what kinda problems we have if don't
just like
would you let your child eat junk food only, cause it tastes good?
you as the parrent know that this will lead to bad health, weight problems, heart problems,
but your child tells you that you are not the moral authority for him?
he is gonna get into all kinda trouble cause he doesn't know the outcome for things.
so, as I said, I can not think of any good that comes from saying there is no god.

Madeline Murray O'Hare and her atheist organization fought to keep prayer out of schools. I think that is a good thing because it ensures one religion does not impose its values on another.

Atheists are people who do not believe in God. Out of all the atheists who have ever lived and died, I'm sure many, before they left this earth, by the grace of God recognized and confessed their faith in Jesus Christ. There is nothing impossible for God.
