Here are some ideas - but you may have heard them before.

1. Get in shape - you'll appear taller if you are thin. But don't go overboard - not worth getting into anorexia or starving yourself!
2. Long hair will lengthen your appearance and styles where there is a lift on the top will help.
3. Wearing higher heeled shoes and shoes with a big base will add a couple of inches.
4. Clothes that are solid in color or have vertical striping can help. Never wear clothes with horizontal stripes or designs.

Most of all remember if you're a girl that there is a perfect guy for you out there and he might be about 5 foot 5, so you would then want to be 5 foot 1 because it will feel just right for him. If you're a guy then - this could be much more challenging. But, you'll want to be 5 foot 1 when you meet Ms. Right who is 5 foot 0.

Don't do anything drastic - I be you're awesome just the way you are anyway!

Er, sorry, exercises, including yoga, will not help you be taller. There's no magic pill or formula or nutritional supplement for increasing height, either. Surgery is it, and it's incredibly painful, takes a long time, and is incredibly expensive, and good luck finding a surgeon who is willing to perform the procedure on anybody other than a dwarf, someone whose life would be dramatically improved with surgery. 5'1" probably wouldn't meet that criteria.

Are you a guy or a girl? I'm guessing girl by your name? 5'3" is about the average woman's height in the U.S., so you're not too far off. You are NOT a freak. I'm 5'9", and am surrounded by little petite girls like you at my university... I feel like Godzilla!

I have the exact same problem, I'm 17 and only five feet tall (on a good day) I walk around at school and everyone has to put their 2 cents in saying how short I am. I'm not getting any taller either, so I hate life. There isn't much for us to do besides wear 5 inch heals... maybe all of us short people should move to an island so we don't feel so stupid standing next to 6 foot people.

Hey. I'm 23 and I'm 5'. While I was in highschool, I was so neurotic about it, I'd freak out if anyone mentioned it. And I knew I wasn't going to get taller. neither are you. It's just not in our genes. But most importantly, I found, is to just accept it. I mean, there are bonuses, like guys like little girls because it makes them feel manlier, but as corny as it sounds, you really do just have to love yourself the way you are. I'm serious. I know it sounds stupid, but better to be happy and imperfect than miserable and perfect. AFter all, men like confidence a lot in a woman too, and if you're mincing and whining about being short, that's just as big a turn off as someone kvetching about being too fat or something. There's a guy out there who won't care how tall you are. Truly, only sh**heads care.

The only thing I have heard of is the breaking the bonein your leg bones then they "the doctors" insert pins and cranks in the leg bones then you would have to turn the cranks like a half a turn every other day or something like that sounds VERY painful. Oooohhh or platform shoes. Good luck!

I can't tell if your male or female, but if your a man... well you are kind of short but you can still live a full life, i know a cute girl whos only 4'10". and if your a girl, then your tall enough for a girl. I hate my height too because everyone in my family is so tall, i'm pretty obsesive about it, but everyone is dissatisfied with themselves for some reason...

You could wear shoes with high heels that will make you appear taller. And certain styles of pants make you seem taller too. Wider leg pants.

You can't do anything. Accept it and be happy with it. I'm 18 and I'm 4'10. I love being small. Height really is a minor thing in the big picture. Learn to love it. Being small makes life more fun!
