For the past 3 weeks I've been getting constant headaches. What worries me is that before this I almost never got headaches. In the beggining I'd get them once a day, every other day or so but now it's every day up to 4 or 5 times a day.
The pain is always around my left eye, ear, jaw, sinus - basically the left side of my head. It feels like a large amount of pressure is being applied. They start at any time for any given reason. It can be a sound (even a light one), light that's slightly bright, even the wind coming in a car window when the car is going fast.
Please help. Is my guess of this being tension headaches correct? Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
PS: haven't gone to the doc because I knock off work late and either forget or get too busy during weekends.

It doesn't sound like a tension headache. You will feel those at the back of the head and down into your neck, or in your jaws. I think it's really important that you make an appointment ASAP. Or you could go into the ER the next time you are having one. You really need to find out what's going on, you know that though. It could be high blood pressure like someone said. Or since you have triggers that can start them, it could be a migraine. That's really what it sounds like.

You must consult a doctor. It may be anything from Sinusitis to Brain Tumour.
The classic symptoms of acute sinusitis usually follow a cold that does not improve, or one that worsens after 5 - 7 days of symptoms. They include:
Nasal congestion and discharge
Sore throat and postnasal drip (fluid dripping down the back of your throat, especially at night or when you lie down)
Headache -- pressure-like pain, pain behind the eyes, toothache, or facial tenderness
Cough, often worse at night
Fever (may be present)
Bad breath or loss of smell
Fatigue and generally not feeling well
Symptoms of chronic sinusitis are the same as acute sinusitis, but tend to be milder and last longer than 8 weeks.
If you suspect a sinus infection you can temporarily solve the problem by
Taking antibiotics such as Levofloxacin (LEVAQUIN) 500mg once daily for 10 to 14 days.
Oxymetazoline nasal sprays (do not use more than 3 days)
Desloratadine (NeoClarityn®, Xaldatin® (AstraZeneca), Claramax®, Clarinex® and Aerius®) for 2 weeks.

This has proven to be a pretty regular complaint in these questions.. You have described involvement with several of the cranial nerves. Fortunately, not all of them appear to be involved yet.. but this is a common response to an inflammatory condition to involve the cranial nerves.. To establish this point, press at the base of the skull and see how sensitive it is.. if it triggers your headache or any other of the symptoms you have revealed here. Should it involve any more of those nerves you will be aware of stomach and intestinal problems also. All symptoms of Migraine Syndrome.
Should your test establish this to be evident in your case, may I suggest you find a Chiropractor and start reversing the problem. This is something they see regularly.
You left out any postural discrepancies.. Your head would be tipped to one side at least slightly, you would also have one shoulder appear longer or lower than the other... Things which desperately are in need of correction.

Could be a migraine....You'd probably get referred to a neurology doc if you went in, and those are reeeeeeeeeeally expensive. A cheaper and less-medicated solution may be massage & chiropractic. Strangely I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about chiropractic, but really it was the only thing that saved me from surgery. The certification process for chiropractors is less rigorous than a "medical doctor", but they are still legitimate, licensed medical personnel. You might find that a little readjustment helps other things too :)

Since the pain is around your eyes and sinuses you probably have elevated blood pressure and might need medical attention. what I can tell you is that if you smoke or drink coffee you shouldn't do that for a while, at least until you see a doctor. Also if you drink black tea you should stop that too because it also contains caffeine.
You should see a doctor because you have to control your blood pressure in order for it not to get worse.

Yes it could be caused by the wisdom teeth. Try your dentist before the Doctor and see if your bite is ok. This can cause both jaw ache and headache.

find a quite restful place. breathe in to the count of 4...hold breath to the count of 7...then let breath out slowly to the count of 8. do this 3 times in a row. then breath normally for a few seconds... then repeat steps, except each time increase the air you breathe in gradually. like the next time you breathe in do it to the count of 5 instead of 4...until you reach breathing in to the count of 10. keep all your other counts the same. you will become so relaxed....it relieves alot of stress.
