ok so my dad has smoked and drank alot for the past oh five yrs, and he has diabetes, he hides the heavey drin

drinking and smoking from my mom, i no about ti and my brother duz to, it hurts me, tonite i asked him again to plz stop smoking, and drink less, i started crying telling him to stop and taht i want him to be there for my life, im 15, hes 50. i luv my dad so much. he said he would do his best to stop and that he luvs me, i told him if he luvs me then he should stop, and if he duznt, i will throw awaythe cigs. and stuff like taht. i havent asked him to stop for a long time. do you think he will stop? give me advise, any.

this man has made his choice, and now he is addicted to smoking and drinking, he says he will stop and he will when he dies, and with diabetes he will not last long. I am sorry to tell you this but you might go to Al anon, they can help you come to understand why he is the way he is and that only he can change that, This is not your fault, and it is not you place to fix him

...for 5 years...i dont thk he would stop...the best thing is that, talk with ur dad, and tell him how u feel, and tell him how "
you will feel if he pasted away", that should bring him tears...and stop the nonsense..hopefully, wish u luck
