How do I keep on-line when I switch from one user to the next on XP?

I just got a sorta new computer, it's windows XP home sp2 just like my old one. But this one will close down my Internet connection when I switch from one user account to another. my old computer never did that I remember that it would ask me if I wanted to close down the connection when I switched I set it so it wouldn't. But this new one is already set to shut off the connection, I wanted to know if there was a way to switch it so it won't?

It could be the power setting that turns off the power to network card on a log off. Or if you are on wireless it has to do with the driver. You need to set up a Persistent connection.
