Well first off you don't know for sure if/when you will lose weight so its kind of like preparing for what might happen... I guess it depends on the size of the lady bug as far as hiding it for job interviews... If you have long hair you could go with the back of the neck... or you can go with your wrist and cover it with a watch ( I use to do that) or bracelets... lower back and shoulder blade you might have problems if you do lose a lot of weight and IMO a small ladybug would look goofy there (then again I dont like the "tramp stamp area...lol) I don't think you would have a problem with your ankle area... and I just don't care for foot tattoos... hope I helped some... Im not too good with placement suggestions because all of mine are out there for God and everyone to see.... Good Luck

I'm overweight also, and most of the places you named I have tats LOL. Anyways I have 7 tats, I have 3 that go across my shoulders, one on each foot, and I have one behind each ear. The ones behind the ears won't stretch hardly at all throught your lifetime, the feet ones might a little bit, but not much. I also have worked in the medical field for 4 years now, and you will find most people in the medical field are tattooed and pierced freaks, theres tons of oddballs there...I wouldn't worry about whether they're completely hidden or not, they're extremely common. Also keep in mind as far as size goes with tattoos, if you get something small it will only make the area look bigger, for instance if you get a ladybug the size of a dime on your shoulder, it will make your shoulder look HUGE rather than if you put it on your ankle it will look much more suited. I personally would get it on my ankle. You can always have your artist draw it up and use the paper to put a stencil in both places before he/she starts and you can pick which looks better! Good luck!

im pretty anti skinny too. I have a tattoo on my foot and one on my ankle. these are areas that arent really effected by weight ..If you lose a lot, your feet will still basically be the same size, as will your ankles (they'll get smaller but not substantially so.) If you've lost weight before, where do you notice it first (and most)? I'd avoid those areas as obviously theyre highly effected by weight loss/gain. Also if youre planning on surgery, dont get one near your stomach, or wherever they'd make an incision, because obviously you dont want your new tattoo to have a giant scar through it.

Hi NSG, i have 2 tattoos myself. i have an irish tribal 4 leaf clover by my shoulder blade and a tribal heart just below my panty line. Both places would me good for you.You don't want to get the ladybug on your ankle, you can see it specially in the summer months. If you want a low back tattoo, you will need to pick something else than a ladybug, not unless you add to it.A good tattoo artist can show you different things to add to your ladybug, just in case you choice your low back. have fun and enjoy what ever way you decide to go. i think my next tattoo will be on my lower back.i think that is a sexy place for a tattoo. Great that you have given this some thought. I am a big girl myself and I have three tatoos all covered up. Someone mentioned the crotch area, but this is a good spot (upper thigh, right next to the kitty kat). I have a band going around my arm that you can only see in a sleeveless shirt, and on my upper back in between my shoulder blades. They say that tats hurt more in places that have more fat on them, but I think it's the other way around. My thigh area was painless, infact it tickled. Who cares cuz your'e overweight, if you want it go for it.

I think the shoulder blade or lower back are the best places. Be aware that if you get a tattoo by a bone it hurts really bad though. I like that your getting one in memory of your grandmother, my grandmother died recently and I was thinking of getting a tattoo in honor of her too. I don't know if I will though I never thought I would want to get one though it will hurt.

I think the ankle would be the prettiest out of what your options are but you could also do a small one on your wrist that could be hidden with a watch for interviews etc. I have a bracelet tatooed on my wrist, just add a watch and it disappears.

The shoulder blade is always nice. It is hidden away a bit and also may not be affected much by weight fluctuations. I say stay at a healthy and comfortable weight - don't worry about losing. I am sure you are beautiful just the way you are. :)

Hi there.. I am a larger gal and love my tattoo. It is on my front shoulder. I say go for it but put it somewhere that YOU can see and enjoy. Why pay for art you can't see?? What a lovely memorial idea.. Enjoy..

i knew a girl who got a sun/moon combo on her big toe and then her friend got a ladybug on her toe, same place, and it was SO CUTE! it was like there happened to be a ladybug crawling on her foot. your big toe probably won't change shape much, but maybe you could do a quick preliminary diet BEFORE getting it--like a reward for losing 20 pounds or something. i like sentimental tatoos like that, to remind you of your grandma. that's very sweet.
