yes it's free but I had microsoft send me the service pack 2 disk for free and it is much faster to intall off of disk than downloading

Just turn your windows update automatically by right clicking on my computer on the start menu then properties then click window update and check the box automatic update (recommended)
this will install windows XP service pack 2 this option if you have Dial up connection because this large files that you to wait long time but, if you have high speed Internet go to Microsoft web site an download it

yes and no. it's free, but if you're dial-up you'll be really lucky to get it downloaded before you have a problem-it's pretty big. you can also get it in CD form from MS, but it'll cost you. it used to be $10, don't know about now.
