I homeschooled my only child (boy) until he went to collage. He did very well. I then adopted a girl and have homeschooled her her entire life, she is now 11. I love it and the kids have done far better than in a public school or private for that matter. There are sooo many suport groups and groups that meet each week for social things as well as those who trade for teaching. If I do not like to teach math because I am not great at it, I will teach english or cooking and another parent will trade for the math. It does not present anything but opportunity for the child to learn, Everything becomes a potential for learning something. My son just graduated from a major university with his masters in business.
My daughter is special needs and is doing things they said she would not be able to! One caution, there are so many actities to get involved in, do not overload yourself. There are no rules or laws as to how many you can homeschool. 1 or 21 as long as they are your kids.

I know lots of people around here that only homeschool one child. Of course it is ok to homeschool whether you have one or many. It doesn't matter. I don't know what is wrong with these people that you are talking with. Are they idiots or what. I homeschool my daughter and she is a one and only. I would much rather have only one to teach than a whole sleugh of kids. You can spend that one on one time. I hear that some parents have a hard time homeschooling their oldest when they still have little ones at home. My sister in law is having that problem right now. Finding something to keep her youngest busy while she tries to homeschool her 9 years old. I say go for it and not worry what everyone else is saying about the subject. Everyone has their opinion. I would take it all with a grain of salt.

Homeschooling one child is fine as long as that child spends a sufficient amount of time in the company of other children the same age. Most of the homeschooled students that I met in college were only children and that worked out just fine for them.

I don't personally do homeschooling, but I used to have a neighbor that homeschooled her only son ... so yes, it's possible to homeschool a single child. I would make time in your schedule for social / peer interaction. Contact your local school district and see if your child can take music and PE classes with children his own age. Contact your local park and rec department to see about some kind of sport for your child to partcipate in with other kids his age.

Yeah, positioned her in tuition wherein she is going to need to watch for the relaxation of the category to get the whole thing; waste time going from magnificence to magnificence, getting provides out, looking films with a sub, and shall be bored out of her brain! I used to be no longer a 'talented' child however I would inform from the homework my peers constantly introduced house I might were very bored at public tuition. I am so pleased my dad and mom selected to homeschool and allow me be taught at my possess velocity whether or not that used to be relocating forward, or staying on a area until I knew it back and front. I don't feel youngsters are born talented, alternatively it's anything of their atmosphere that makes them this fashion. Obviously you might have been elevating her the proper approach if she is presented, so why no longer maintain doing what you're doing? If her tuition will get too intricate one day there are constantly tutors, different homeschool dad and mom, and institution categories you'll take on-line or on the campus. I took really a couple of institution categories in the course of prime tuition on the grounds that the prime tuition-degree paintings used to be readily no longer difficult sufficient. So we took my schooling to the following degree. When I used to be capable for institution I already had credit to switch. Socialization is rather no longer an challenge in state-of-the-art international. I have under no circumstances had a main issue with making peers whether or not they're my age or no longer, I have under no circumstances been missing for peers, and I have under no circumstances had any person remark on my social 'capabilities'. Although many humans say I am 'so outgoing' once they uncover out I used to be homeschooled. In my opinion, homeschooling is your pleasant wager, might be personal tuition, however without doubt no longer public tuition.
