Yes... high school relatioships DO last! I wont say i have seen but i have heard from a friend of mine that she has a friend who has been goin out with this guy since school!! and they are in college rite now!.. the same college that too... it was like they were made for each other!! As a college goer myself... i wud say that relationships rite after u pass out from school depends on the choices u make. After high school obviously u luk for a college... its then when( i really dont mean to be harsh) usually high school couples break off... or even if they dont.. they find other people in college. but yes.. if u r really serious enuf with the guy and the guy reciprocates it... then u shud opt 4 the same college.. else long distance relationships are usually not all that rosy... but plz dont compromise on ur future... its future first then romance.... who knows?? in future u might meet him again and then u wont have 2 worry about anything but to go for it!! cuz then he WILL b urs n their wont be any hindrances like high school or college coming in between the both of u. However.. dont get too demotivated by whatever i jes said... if u want him.. get him now before u r too late and maybe this relationship of urs might jes prove me wrong

the chances of it lasting are pretty slim. So I wouldn't advise it. Besides, growth as a person for u might be stunted if u just settle down with one person so young(which is why so many young marriages fail). But I have heard of young couples lasting. I knew a teacher of mine who met his wife when he was a junior and she was a sophomore in high school. They got married when she turned 18, put each other through school, and traveled a lot, had a kid after 20 years of marriage. The kid's probably 5 now. I also know a girl who's grandparents got married when they were 16, and they put each other through school, had five kids, put them through college, and raised a one of their grandkids. It can work; but usually since one takes a major step so young and inexperienced in life...the failure rate is high; but if u work on every problem u have as a couple, and honestly, a young marriage between HS sweethearts can last.

It relies upon on how sturdy the courting is in the process the top of the friendship. If are are like Siamese twins and constantly are at the same time once you're youthful, you're maximum possibly to maintain on that comradeship till one in all you hurts the different in some way. I truthfully have 2 friendships that pass decrease back to gradeschool, and one in the previous. One pal, became the only person on the block for me to play with. And we've been friends because of the fact the age of four of 5. the different one, I met in 5th grade and we've been friends because of the fact the seventh grade. yet those have been very close friends. those you communicate superficial, and don't pass the greater mile for an further, properly of direction, those won't final. you have have been given to dedicate to a friendship and constantly be there for an further, or the friendship will peter out.

Well..Look at it this way, you are 17 and do you expect to think the same way for the rest of your life? Will you look at life in many different perspective or just in one perspective all your life? ask your self that...I say, no and no to both cause you are still young. You may feel very differnt about the person you are dating now, 5 and 10 yrs from now. that is because we evolve. if you are the type that is not interesting, not the type that wants adventure and welcome changes then you may be able to stay with this guy!....you have to ask a lot of question before you decide that you are able to be with only one person for the rest of your life? My opinion, NO way! but i have seen couples that have stayed together after HS and years later...

well i wouldn't have too much hope of that since i broke up with my girlfriend about a year after we'd left...
life changes too much in those years, even geographically sometimes alot can happen.
having said that, i've known the majority of my other friends from college (we call it sixth form or college here in uk & we do it for two years before we go to Univercity)
AND come to think of it, my parents met e/o in high school & that was almost 40 years ago! so maybe there's a chance!

small chance, but possible... of the hundreds of them I've know from my high school, only about 5 or 10 lasted for this long...Im in my 40s, so you really are just finding out about guys, and relationships for later use...what you like, dislike about guys ect..then when you find someone who will be older than you, at least 10 years, then you can settle down..see guys you will find are at least 10 years behind girls in maturity...so wait and find an older man....

Sometimes, High School relationships turn into lifetime relationships. My Aunt and Uncle were married over 60 years, and were still in love when he died in 2002.

I can't give you odds. How old are you? The older, the better the chances.
I started going out with my eventual husband at the end of my senior year. We stayed together, despite being separated, while we were at college and got married 14 years ago.

it can, been married almost 12 years to my high school sweetheart. but one thing we had going for us is that he was my best friend for almost 2 years, so we got to really know each other without any emotions getting in the way.
