I would, she'll probably be even more pissed when she goes there expecting to hear something else.

Honesty is the best policy. You screwed up and you know it. Now it's time to let your mom know it. Sit down with her and tell her something like ...

Mom, this school year hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be. I'm beginning to wonder if I have too many hard classes all at the same time because I'm not doing very well. I've tried to study harder and get help from my teachers, but I'm still having a lot of trouble. I know the parent-teacher conferences are coming up, and I wanted to let you know before you went that it will probably be some really bad news. Before you get angry with me, I'm trying to be honest with you so I can get the help I need to fix this problem. I really want to do my best, but right now ... my best isn't good enough.

What you should do is tell your mom before the parent teacher conference, that you don't think you are doing well in your classes so she will not be surprised at the meeting. You will have given her a heads up so she'll be focused on asking the teachers what you can do to improve instead of focusing on the initial shock of finding out that you are flunking. If she is unable to get you a tutor check with some of the kids who are doing well in the class and try studying with them, if you don't want to mix with your classmates try listening to and writing more things in French. I hate math too, but as they say practice makes perfect.

problems like this didn't exist for me either........then i had my son. and i found out the same way about his chemistry class his freshman year, a parent/teacher conference. it was dis-heartening to hear it from his teacher and not him. i felt lied to. talk to your mom. it's the positive thing you can do right now. yes there will be consequences, but but the two of you can come up with a game plan to improve your grades together. if there's a sylvan learn center or something like that in your area, look into it. if you're enjoying a class but still having troubles, maybe it's the way you're studying or maybe even a learning disorder that can be corrected. the only way you'll get through this is by confessing and trying to come up with solutions. not to give more parenting advice here........but school is important for you to become a well rounded adult in society. good luck!!

Speaking as a parent, we hate these conferences worse than anything. We hate them worse when we are completely clueless as to why we are being asked to come in to see your teacher. This is a big important step on your way to maturity. Sit your Mom down tonight and tell her what is going on. Tell her what you think you need to get back on track, prepare to work your tail off, and take responsibility for your actions. You will be a better person for it. Don't let your Mom get blindsided when she gets there.

Tell your mom before the conference because she will probably expect something and got their finding out that you flunked. She whether you tell her now then wait to later.

I WILL TELL THEM BEFORE THE CONFERENCE AND LET THEM KNOW YOU NEED HELP! DON'T BE TOO SCARED BECAUSE SOMETIMES PROBLEMS LOOKS BIGGER THAN THEY REALLY ARE.
