Your right, one of the last commissions of Christ before ascending into heaven - was to preach the Gospel to the whole world. The purpose and motivation is - eternal life in Jesus to a lost and dying world.

Thank you for asking! Personally, I think everyone was put here to love our Heavenly Father. From this comes our unique purposes. One of my purposes is working with children. I have a youth choir at church and I love working with them. Another is that I am an artist. Another is that I am a songwriter and guitar player. And , of course, there are the purposeful times of sharing a testimony when you feel prompted to do that.
The Lord said if we used our gifts and talents or skills the way He intended then He would add more to us while increasing the others.

Right now my purpose seems to be to befriend, love and comfort a bunch of people who feel alienated for one reason or another. If this is my purpose, I’ll do my best. If there is another purpose, I pray I can be a good servant when called.
To Why, things happen in our lives each day. We choose how we respond. If we see an elderly person on the street who obviously needs food and a friend, we have a choice. We can walk on by or stop and offer what help we can.
As time goes on we might start to notice a pattern of events. Similar things keep happening. You either start to realize that you should pay attention or choose to ignore.
If we have chosen to serve God, then we pay attention to the things he shows us. This is how we begin to understand his purpose. He does have a purpose for each of us if we are willing to pay attention.

My purpose is to help others; help the sad, the lonely, those less fortunate than me..even if it means I end up with less than them.
It hasn't been a conscious choice..it's just the way things happen for me. Sometimes I find it really frustrating, but mostly I've come to terms with it. I think it's part of my kharma.
For all the frustrations & disappointments, there have been some wonderful rewards.

God has given me explicit proof that my purpose for living is to listen and counsel people who are going through relationship problems.
It took me 5 years to learn my purpose, but it finally sunk in and it brings me great spiritual happiness. Even if not everyone listens.
I'm not a Christian but I am confident in God's love and that there is a purpose for every living being on Earth.
I'm glad you found your purpose, very few people do.

As a person I'm called to care and share and love others better than myself.

The purpose I chose for myself is to learn everything I can, so I can evolve to become a better and wiser human being. I want to know; not believe.

My motivation is love. I share my beliefs because I love you. You are my brother. All race, creed, and nationality aside. You are my brother. I have been blessed with such happiness I desire to share it with everyone I love.
