It really depends on the type of seizure. in the Grand Mall it could hurt if the person fell into anything or on anything. otherwise it doesn't, the person that has the seizure will not even realize they had one. A petty mall seizure doesn't hurt anyone they pretty much realize they had a seizure. and are afraid of what could of happened. My daughter didn't learn to drive until she was 22 because she was afraid she would have a seizure while driving. (which was very possible except that her meds would have helped her, but the fear was still there.

Do Seizures Hurt

They don't hurt but they're very disorienting &, I would imagine, frightening. The only thing you can do is just make sure she stays safe by putting pillows down, etc. when she's having one. It sure can't hurt to talk calmly or even sing to your dog till it passes. Don't try to touch or hold her as she has no control & you could get bitten badly. I know most vets don't like to medicate if they are few & far between as the meds have serious side effects. (I am assuming you've consulted your vet!) If the seizures increase in frequency, or start coming in clusters ask your vet about keeping injectable valium on hand as it can also be given rectally & goes a long way to help. Also, keep a journal of when & where the seizures happen, how long they last & what was going on at the time so your vet can see if there's a pattern. Best wishes!

I have a 20 years old son suffering from seizures due to epilepsy. I hope you already sook medical advice for your son and that he has been dignosed and is taking medicine to control his seizures. If not, please do so as soon as possible.
If he is suffering from epilepsy, you should know that there are different kinds of that disease. My son has what is called abdominal epilepsy which means his stomach hurt -burning sensation- right before having a seizure.
During seizures people cannot breathe so they should be monitored closely. It also means that the brain is not irrigated causing the death of a number of brain cells with each seizure. Knowing that these cells are not replaced, you want to keep the number of seizures to a minimum. As I said before, prescription medications are available. Also a healthy and regulated lifestyle does help. You might want to check out this website: www.epilepsy.com

They say they don't hurt because they can't remember them
And actually they don't hurt unless they fall against something..
Believe it or not, I only had two children, a boy and a girl....They were 13 months apart...Both my children have epilepsy (still do)
They are adults now...Daughter has grand maul seizures, Son always had petit maul seizures, but last few years, he now has grand maul seizures......(.worst kind) And the doctors can't tell me why.......No one in family had seizures b/4....They are both on medication 3x a day.If they forget their meds 2 days in a row, they will have a seizure on the 3rd day...It always happened,,,,,They are good about meds now........Good luck to you and your son.........With Grand Maul siezures they take almost 2-3 days to get over it...They are totally drained...And with grand maul seizures their tongue swells up and they may wet themselves(usually do) Just part of it...The seizures were hard to go through for me everytime also. Hard to see your child go through something you have no control over. Just protect their head and let them have the seizure...............One more thing, I'm sorry this is so long...But daughter who has had so many over the years(over 40) says she believes she doesn't think right...She can't explain it but she says she isn't the same.mentally...And I can tell sometimes........But I still love her to pieces.

I have grand mal seizures. I have fallen during some of my seizures and hurt myself. I have also come out of a seizure with a migraine so bad that it was unbearable. My body would be so weak that I couldnt walk. Then the muscles would be so sore for days from them tensing up during the seizure. My memory is bad. Simple things are hard for me to remember. Little everyday things. Makes me feel like a idiot. Especially for being 33 years old. Best of luck to you and for your 2 yr old.

No my partner has epilepsy and he says no, however the damage done during a seizure does hurt. Some people get scared to go to bed for fear of night time seizures.

During the seizure, there is no pain, but afterwards, muscles hurt. Seizures can cause the person to contort their body unnaturally, and in older people, I have even seen them cause muscle damage. Usually, small children have less because their muscles are more supple.

Bless you and your son. :)
