The first thing to do is contact a veterinarian, who can tell you if this puppy is old enough for a product like Frontline Plus or Advantage. If so, that is the best bet. Within half an hour of application, those critters are gone and the protection lasts a month. When you bathe, you simply destroy what is one the dog at that particular time, and fleas and ticks don't spend the majority of time on your dog. They are waiting in the carpet and grass until they are ready to feed again, and then they will reattach to your dog. These products work to destory the bugs that are on the dog, in the dog's environment, and help act as a repellant.

Most of the flea baths tell you not to bathe any puppy with them under 3 months. You probably need to call your vet and ask them. They may have some special shampoo. If not, ask about Frontline. When the flea bites the dog, the flea dies. It works really well for us. It's only about $5 a month. Maybe $10 Can't really remember but it's worth it. It got rid of the fleas on our Sheltie

No flea shampoos work as good as the Dawn dish washing liquid for fast removal of fleas and is very safe for your pup ,but just be sure to rinse him well. Then would suggest spraying your lawn with a flea retardent, but remove pets until it drys, then apply the Advantage once a month treatment that can be purchased at any Vet clinic.

You could get some frontline and put one him. That is safe for puppies starting at 8 weeks of age I think.

"FRONTLINE Plus is ideal for use on puppies and kittens 8 weeks of age or older. Not only does FRONTINE Plus kill up to 100% of adult fleas on your pet within 24 hours, it also contains a special ingredient that kills flea eggs and larvae to keep ALL stages of fleas from developing and bothering your pet and your family."

well we live out on a ranch with out 10 huskies (we breed) and so we have to worry about this stuff all the time. There is something a petsmart you can find at the shampoo area its smells really good too. its a certain spay that is just for ticks, fleas, mosquito's etc. Just try to look for it there i am sure all the petstore have them.

MOST THINGS ON THE MARKET ARE TOO HARSH FOR A PUP THIS AGE...YOUR VET CAN GIVE HIM A ONE TIME PILL
FOR HIS WEIGHT AND AGE...IT WILL KILL THE FLEAS IN ABOUT AN HOUR THE TICK WILL HAVE TO BE REMOVED
THE PILL IS ONLY ABOUT 2 OR 3 DOLLARS..IT'S THE VISIT THAT COST.
