Harm is subjective and wholey dependant on what the mother interprets as harm. This is why elective abortions need to be allowable by the courts. While some women may love the experience of pregnancy and becoming a parent there are many women out there who would rather kill themselves then go through pregnancy. I know this because I was one of them. I was on the verge of suicide and if it weren't for safe abortions I may not be here today. To those people who think abortion is okay only in the instances of physical harm to the mother, what about psychological harm? Or maybe it doesn't matter simply because you can't see it.
To keep abortion from becoming illegal. You must speak out and speak loudly in places where abortion is in danger of becoming a crime. I'm not American and in my country abortion is a non-issue in politics and is rarely threatened to be taken back out into debate except when trying to get voters attention. If safe and legal abortion were at risk, I'd be very vocal about what I believe is right and that is safety and help for those women who truly need abortions.

I bet that if you polled everyone in America, you'd find that a clear majority favor keeping abortion safe and legal during the first trimester, with restrictions (like only to save the life or health of the mother, etc.) after that.
And if we started there, we could work toward a more comprehensive program of sex ed and access to contraception that could make abortion safe, legal, and RARE, which is everyone's goal.

to keep aboriton not a good idea but i believe that if everyone would agree aborition is only ok if it is going to harm the mother or child then it owuld be thought upon differently, see theres pros and cons to everything you have to his something in the middle, and this sounds like it mite get some people how are anti abortion, i think its only ok if the mother or child will die, then its there decision toherwise you opened you legs you suffer

what??????
Abortion is NOT a solution. Keep the baby or give it to someone who is DYING for the chance to nuture a child. Email me if you need help with that.
Remember, the baby's heart is beating at 4 weeks... which is how far along a woman is when her period was due!!

I don't exactly understand your question. Are you asking for alternatives to abortion? There's adoption which is a wonderful alternative to abortion. There's also the option of having the child and raising it yourself.

im pro choice. to a point. i do believe its a choice to a certain point in pregnancy as any where before your 13 week your body can "spontaniously abort" or also called miscarrage a fetus. if our bodys can do it for us why cant we have the choice to this point. any time after this should not be allowed if you dont want the baby put it up for adoption.

I agree with everyone else. Unless the mother is not physically capable of carrying the child.

The option should be kept for women who were raped, are victims of incest, or in cases of ectopic pregnancies. If you don't take care of ectopic pregnancies, it's fatal both mother and the fetus.
