Why do you want one?

If the answer is: "Because they're cute" then you don't need a dog.

This is a HUGE responsibility! Look past the cute dog and look at 3:00 a.m. wake up times to let the dog out, payment for vet bills (that YOU will pay for) bags and bags of dog food (that YOU will pay for) and an endless amount of energy that this dog has that YOU will have to be responsible for 24 hours a day for the rest of the dogs' life. You will have to do everything because your sister is allergic and your mom doesn't like dogs.

And you would wouldn't mind having your sister get shots all the time because she's allergic to dogs!? You would put you SISTER through that? This is a DOG! It has the ability to live for a decade, or longer! You would make your sister get shot after shot after shot year after year just because you wanted a dog!?

Grow up and buy one when you have your own place after you finish college.

In the meantime hop on your bike and go and volunteer at the local humane society. You will learn a lot about caring for an animal and the animals need love.

Unless you are only 3/4 years old, you will be leaving for college long before any dog you get now will be dead. What happens to the dog then?
Can't take him to college to live in the dorm.

Well,I don't really get why you have to ask your mom but anyway I think you should have a looong boring talk with your mom and saying that you are responsible enough to get a Toy Fox Terrier.

Do chores and start saving your money because you're going to need it!! With a plain mutt puppy from the pound, it costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 to raise for the first year. So, when you have been responsible enough to save up enough to pay for your puppy and it's supplies, then you can go talk to you mom about wanting a pet. Explain to her that you have been mature enough and responsible enough to save up enough money to help raise the dog for the first year of it's life including all of it's shots, training, vaccinations, ect. and see what she says.

I have TFT! His name is Preston and he's 6mo old! TFT are one of the most loving and sweetest dogs... can be a lil hyper at times but they are wonderful! I don't know what I would do with out my Prston! And with your sis and her allergies... TFT shed very little. Seriously.

Take your mom to a breeder to see one of the pups... trust me it'll be love at first sight!!!!!!!!!
