You need to restore the moisture in your hair. If you can afford it, Redken Allsoft shampoo and conditioner is really good(it has avocado oil in it). You can use any conditioner as a leave in conditioner, the best way is to shampoo, rinse your hair with hot water, wring out the water, and then put the condition on your warm damp hair. Wrap it in a warm towel and let the conditioner soak in your hair for at least 15 minutes. I know people who hold a blow dryer to their hair as it is wrapped as heat speeds the moisture penetration.
At home, you can easily treat your hair with the following hair mask:
alternate between using fresh avocado paste(mush the inside of the avocado and cover your hair, especially the ends with it)
Or, buy virgin/organic coconut oil (the kind that has no scent and is semisolid but melts in your hand).
Those are three methods, all work. I would alternate as each has its moisturizing properties. Remember to massage your scalp to promote blood circulation while you condition it (for heathier hair growth)

So sorry to hear about this. I have been through this myself.
Firstly, are you overprocessing your hair with perms or colours?
This can weaken the hair.
What about your diet? Are you getting enough vitamins/minerals.
Do you get enough fresh air and exercise. All this plays a big part.
If you are getting all of the above, then chances are there
may be something else wrong. Brittle hair dosn't happen for no reason.
For me, it was an underactive thyroid gland that was causing my hair to be brittle. They discovered this through a blood test.
Now I take medication to replace the thyroxine my body dosn't make anymore and my hair is strong and healthy again.
A change in hormones can also cause this.
Have you recently had a baby - this can also contribute to this.
Of course, I also take vitamins and minerals and eat a balanced diet, along with daily exericise and drink plenty of water - 10 glasses a day.
Try taking some vitamin B supplements, calcium, silica
and extra protein.
But my first recomendation - is have a blood test.
Let me reassure you that there is lots you can do and it IS
possible to get your hair looking healthy and strong again.
Good luck!!

An interesting fact about Vitamin B: Certain experiments were conducted with rats and they were fed with food that lacked magnesium supplements. It was found that they lost their hair in bunches and when they were provided with a low biotin diet they turned hairless. But to the surprise of all, their hair returned when they were fed with food rich in Vitamin B. Similar studies were conducted on men and it was found that Vitamin B enriches the quality of hair. The body also requires Vitamin A. Fatty acids such as primrose oil, flaxseed oil or salmon oil need to be consumed for enhancing hair growth.

Vitamin E is meant for stimulating the oxygen intake in the body and improves the blood circulation. If there is proper blood circulation, hair growth is enhanced. Vitamin C assists the normal functioning of capillaries that carries the blood to the scalp. Even zinc is an important supplement, which should be consumed as it assists hair growth.

Biotin is necessary for hair growth. There are many sources of biotin such as brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. It is present in some shampoos, so you can use shampoos, which contain biotin. It is advised to consult a physician before taking any vitamins or medications for hair growth.

Has your eating habits gone down? are you getting enough vitamins and eating enough fruit and veg? that is a key factor for beautiful hair, have you changed shampoo lately? and do you wash it enough or too much, every second day is perfect for hair. are you in the sun too long, there are so many factors that could change the way your hair is, my suggestion is that you go through the list starting with shampoo change it and see where that gets you and if that doesnt help try eating more fruit and veg and see what it is affecting your hair. once you figure that out you should be able to maintain beautiful healthy hair.

Try Hair Nourish Cream and treatment for your hair. Always use a conditioner after shampooing and don't wash your hair too often. Let the natural hair oil from your scalp have a chance to coat your hair to reduce the brittleness.

There's this cut...that I got...it wasn't really with a razor though...It was this special scissor...and they chop at the top of your head, the middle, some more in the middle...and then end...And then they run a comb through, clumps of your hair come out...(It's scary...because you think all that hair is gonna fall out...but the scissor has holes, so I don't know how it works...but it dramatically things out hair)

Yeah, I did that...and I got rid of a LOT of dead hair...and you don't sacrifice length....and of course...you should ALWAYS cut of extremely bad tips...

And of course...deep conditioners...I use biolage...Just put a BUNCH on...and leave it for like a day...Sleep with it if you want.

It is also important to get enough (of the right) fats in your diet. They do help ensure healthy hair and skin. People who hardcore diet often have unhealthy, dull hair and skin.

if you use heat on your hair a lot, like straightening or curling, stop that for a while. also, if your hair is dyed just let it grow out then cut off the gross part. my best frienddid this and she looks adorable now with her hair short.
