The Roman Senate feared that a popular leader like Julius Caesar would spell the end of their power, when he would crown himself king of Rome and dissolve the Senate. Even since they removed Tarquinius Superbus, the last king of Rome, the Romans had always been wary of anyone who could potentially seat himself upon the throne.

In short, the Senate felt that Caesar was overstepping his boundaries, and they conspired to stop him before he completely took over.

The senate disliked Julius Caesar because they could not control or dominate him. Julius Caesar was a man with his own mind that wanted to rule and not be ruled.

How's that for brief.

One last thing - please use spell check before turning in any papers. I just scream when I get papers that have misspelling when there is such a thing as spell check. Thank you!

Julius Caesar married Cleopatra and had a child with her making the child as an heir to his throne. The Senators did not want an Arab emperor. Thus, they killed Caesar and forced Cleopatra to return to Egypt. It was this same theory that Princess Diana was allegedly killed to prevent an Arab from being an heir to the British throne.
