Instead of gel, get some Black and Sassy Smoother or try Jam.

tcb lite hair and scalp conditioner. make sure it says lite, not the regular one. It has a red lid. It's like a light grease and gel in one and I have been using it for years. It will really hold hair down even without a relaxer and it grew mine also. You can also add some new era spritz. Try creme of nature ultra moisturizing shampoo, comes in a white and green bottle( you will not need conditioner after this, but if you must use it v05 is cheap but it works great and smells really good).

Gel will go hard and look too stiff. Grease will get too oily and end up all over the place.
Try using a hair cream for your hair type or a leave in conditioner to tame the fizz.

okay. don't use to much stuff that will make it look greasy... like grease. try using gel or hairspray or somthing. if you use gel, don't use too much... it makes it look greasy. maby put hairspry on in a thin layer over your hair and then a thin layer of gell. and if it doesn't stay then, put more hairspray on.

I agree with immortalruby. Try a hair cream. But only start with a very little to see how it "takes". Good luck!
