I've heard arguements FOR & AGAINST this...and would like to hear some REALLY "Informed" opinions on this. I hope those who just want to make unintelligent, smart remarks &/or comments on this will not make them! I'm really interested in INFORMED comments.

Milk is a good source of calcium and Vitamin D, which are the main reasons to continue drinking it after childhood. But if one can get those nutrients elsewhere in sufficient quantities, then I guess that one doesn't need to drink milk, unless one is fond of it.

Milk has a lot of calcium and is good for the bones and teeth. It also contains Vitamin D, which is important for good health. It is definitely advisable to drink milk after childhood, just not as much.

My wife had twins :D - I placed an order for twins and I got them! 1 boy and 1 girl. We planned to breast feed BOTH for 1 full year! We did it too!!!! We did use a breast pump (double) to help out!
One thing that our specialist told us (we used specialist since she had hard time getting pregnant), was that the babies would be STEALING a LOT of Calcium and MANY mothers lose their teeth since the calcium comes out of the teeth quickest!
So, drinking LOTS of Milk is important. Of course, if you don't like milk there are LOTS of other foods/beverages and even pills you can take that offer the same benefits as Milk. We prefered Milk over pills (yes, we still took some pills) since it was more natural and she liked the taste. Sometimes - chocolate milk, sometimes strawberry milk (yummy!). But, yes, lots of milk. She did not lose any teeth. :D

Good luck! Remember, you should enjoy your way of getting your Calcium. Whether it be with milk, food or vitamins! So, that you don't forget to take them!!!!

Look at what is in the content of milk. It's mostly protein and calcium. I feel that not necessary to drink milk if you have enough calcium and protein from other sources of food.

milk has the higest amount of calcium and that is very much needed for the body for heart health and bone health so in a way if you want to consider it food then yes . often people do not think of it as food because it is not a solid.
