What part of NYC is the news and Late Night with Conan and other stuff broadcast?

Is it a very dangerous part of town?

Thats Rockefeller Center, in between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue (47-50th sts). Its not dangerous, but it is VERY busy, and there is a LOT of traffic.

NYC is not dangerous in itself, if you do not make yourself susceptible to the scams. Mid-town, where the news and Conan is filmed, is a relatively safe area. However, it is a very tourist area which breeds a lot of scam artists. I do not consider these people to be dangerous because they cannot harm me unless I allow them to.

That said, just use common sense. For example, don't let a stranger take a picture of you and your family with your camera--he may just run off with it. Don't buy said Rolex watches from a briefcase propped on the street. Don't wear tourist clothing, play street guessing games, or pay cash for items which you do not have the merchandise in hand. It is basic common sense.

Overall, a scam artist is going to try to scam someone he thinks he can deceive. If you act confident and are aware of your surroundings you will spare yourself from many unnecessary disappointments.

Late Night with Conan is filmed at the NBC studios by Rockefeller Plaza. It's actually one of the nicer areas of Manhattan.

each is done at its own studios. All NBC shows and news is done at Rockerfeller Center. Late Night is up on 56th st and Broadway. Both are good areas.
