I believe that my dog may be 4 weeks along, her nipples are getting bigger and she's gaining weight but i cant feel any babies yet. Is this normal? when should i be able to feel them? Oh and she's a rottweiler.

You won't feel them until closer to 8 weeks. Good luck!

She will get bigger around 4-5 weeks if she is a small dog or 5-8 weeks along if she is a bigger breed dog. She will get lazier and lay around more. She may get sick and vomit or experience a temperament change. Around 6 weeks they tend to lose their appetite for awhile. They want smaller meals and urinate more due to the growing uterus squishing everything else. They dig and scratch as if making a nest for their pups. Around the last week their nipples fill up with milk. If your female went into heat and didn't get bred she might still show all these signs without being pregnant. To rule out this "false pregnancy" for cheap you can get a dog pregnancy test at the vet for $20-$30. If you don't have the money for that you just have to wait and see if she has pups 58-66 days prior to mating. You need to be with your dog as she has pups and call the vet if something goes wrong. If you don't it could result in death. Labor includes pain and often the dog looks like she needs help when she really doesn't and people end up trying to help and messing everything up so you need to know what to expect. To find out what to expect on the birth of pups go to: http://www.hilltopanimalhospital.com/reproduction.htm Good luck!

if thats happening to ur dog, she's pregnant

probably. did you breed her intentionally? if you did then go back to the breeding date. it's ususally 63-65 days til birth. the last 2 weeks of pregnancy the vet can x ray her, but it's not always definitive. maybe try getting an ultrasound done by a specialist. if this is all too new to you, you then need to re-think breeding dogs.

You won't feel the baby's until it gets closer towards labor.. My dog is pregnany at this very moment and should be popping out her first puppy any minute..Yes there is weight gain and bigger nipples/breast with the process..

it could be. and watch the dog whether sage is digging a hole , is better you put a box near the dog so that the dog can deliver the puppy inside the box

why would you feel her nipples? dogs are not like humans...you can't tell they are pregnant that way. take her to a vet to make sure.

You will need to take her to the vet for an exam, but here's a temporary guide:http://www.pets.ca/articles/article-dogpregnant.htm

first off, i don't think it's right to feel your dog's nipples, but chances are dog is pregnant because b-itc-hes get knock up quite often.
