how does the long term use of adderall affect the brain?

100mg/daily, amphetamine. I have heard that long term can effects can alter the chemistry of the frontal lobes. I have seven years invested into a hellish tolerance, am I playing with fire yet?

Not likely. They've done studies to follow children and adults who are taking Ritalin / Adderall / Etc. for 20+ years, and they've seen no adverse effects. Your choices are stay on the meds and cope with life, or go off your meds and ????. Both of my brothers have been on these type of meds for over 20 years, and they function well in life as long as they take the meds. When they think they can do without and stop taking them, they're in trouble.
