I just got another tattoo (my 3rd) and when it's fresh, like 10-12 hours old you are supposed to wash it gently. Well after I wash it there is a goo like substance, kind of like when you sneeze where the tattoo is. All my tattoos have done this and I wonder what it is? After the second day it's completely gone, it only happens when it's new. Any answers would help. Thanks.

It's only there for the first day and half i'd say, it's long gone now, it's not infected. The plasma makes perfect sense. Yes all mine are done my the same person.

Yes, the people that said blood plasma are right. This is completely normal, and nothig to worry about. It is just the way your body reacts to a tattoo, and is usually the color of the ink, because a minute amount of ink is taken comes with it. It only lasts a short while because your skin is healing and "sealin up". Usually blood stops seeping through much before plasma does. Just keep with the aftercare as you seem like you are... :-) Just wash it every 2-3 hours. It only seems to appear after you wash because when you wash a new tattoo, you wash off the layer of dried blood/ink/plasma, and your body continues to drain it until you must wash it again. I'm glad you realize it's not an infection, and it's just a part of the healing process, and nothing to worry about.
Congrats ont the new tattoo, by the way.. :)

When I got my tattoos the artist put an ointment on them when he/she was finished, then covered the tat with clean bandage. I was told to reapply the ointment each day for a certain number of days but even after I stopped using it there was a substance like you described. It had some of the ink that was not absorbed into the tattoo in it as well. I didn't really think anything of it and it went away shortly after I stopped using the ointment.

Me and 2 of my peers have matching tattoos, the tattoos are a music lyric that we cut up up into three elements so every people may have a side, as for settling on the music....its from a band that every one three people love and we took the lyrics and made them right into a double which means that applies to our lives so it isnt simply "howdy we fairly like this band" you realize, intent that might be tacky. We took our music and implemented it to god that is anything thats major to us, we had been additionally cautious to ensure that every side that we received would stand on my own due to the fact that we arent consistently going to be in combination sitting or status "so as"....wish this helped.
