Are you saying it's time to upgrade it to include all the "slang" terminology? Absolutely not - that's what's wrong with many people today as it is, without deliberately putting non-words in the dictionary. Many people today, for example, use the term "irregardless" (NO it is not a word) and they defend the usage by saying it's a word because it can be found in some dictionaries...that doesn't change the fact it's a double-negative non-word. If we start putting in everything that people use on a daily basis, and take out the ones no one uses at all, I can just imagine the giant step back we'd all be taking. Shouldn't we be moving forward, and improving our vocabularies and the vocabularies of our children, who use too much lazy slang?

PS/ Saying it's ok to use those types of words isn't going to help prepare them for a future in the real world, with actual educated people who know better.

I refuse to misspell on purpose; what point are you trying to get across? I don't believe that alot of teenage language belongs in the dictionary, even though I am a teen myself. Things like grills, gangsta, and bling don't belong in the dictionary as I see it.The dictionary usually reflects the language of the whole population as a whole, not a small group.

Everyone spelling words as they wish???You call that an upgrade?I can't prove your point because English must be uniform throughout the English speaking world(with minor exceptions i.e.labor,labour).You know Americans are not the only ones who speak English.By the way,that's why you have spell check.
