Or is it only bad if it is abused

I believe it's only bad when abused. Too much makes you lazy(sloth) and it gives you the munchies(gluttony) But I can't say for sure, I'm no authority on scripture.

I SEE SOME VERY FUNNY,STRANGE ANSWERS ABOUT POT
1 -I'm christian but at one time I wasn't and I smoke pot now I'm reaping the benefits for it I may have MS and the research on MS and pot is that pot destroys the covering of the nerve endings in the brain and that's what causes MS.and a lot of other brain disorders. And I didn't smoke it a lot, usually on week ends for about 6 years.

2-Ive read the Bible and I never read where it was a sin to use drugs, if so why did they have physician in the Bible, if that's the case every christian I know that is taking heart, blood pressure, cancer medications, they are all sinning when they take the medications the Doctor prescribes...right

3- just because it grows as a plant doesn't mean you have to smoke it,there are a lot of plants if eaten,or smoked, will kill you,so just because God created it doesn't mean that's what he intended for it to be used for, Hemlock is a plant ,try some of that, you want be doing anymore and you will be finding out what he intended it for from Gods own mouth,in other words you will die.

If it is used as a medical pain medication for terminally ill,it's OK, but there's to much right now not know about it and it does cause damage to the brain. Sorry,I miss it myself it was good for helping me sleep, now I'm up all night ,and never have as good a sleep as i did with it. And it was good for pain to ,the reason I stared smoking it was for Fibromylgia, now i take a bunch of pills, but its still bad for your brain cells......and they don't grow back, once gone, gone forever.

It's bad for a Christian to openly--or in secret--smoke marijuana. THe Bible condems the use of drugs. Don't know the reference off hand. A reference to pharmacopia (something like that in the Greek).
Why do you ask?
Wouldn't you rather get high on the Spirit of God?

Throughout history religious leaders from many different belief systems have used various forms of drugs to have religious visions, and to experience their God, so why would it be wrong to smoke a little pot now and then?

IT IS NOT OKAY FOR ANYONE WHO CALLS HIMSELF A CHRISTIAN TO DO ANYTHING THAT WILL DISHONOUR HIS FATHER OR HIS FATHER'S KINGDOM! To openly do anything that could cause someone to follow could make you responsible for the fall of that weak person's soul

The mariuane is itself value neutral. You have wisely identified one aspect - is it abused. Other aspects - is it harmful; does it cause other Christians to question their faith; and how do you interpret honoring the authorities if one is breaking the law?

I sure hope not, since it's the only thing that really works for glaucoma and has many good medical uses--and it's all natural, which is more than can be said for wine and most of the food we eat.

Yes, the bible says to be sober. We need to be in our right mind because our enemy goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Smoking marijuana isn't very Christ-like. And neither is breaking the law.
