okay, we just bought a new house and i want to have chocolate brown walls with a kinda medium purplish contrasting wall....but more of the chocolate brown. Its a fairly small room and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT Color of laminet flooring would look the best. Ex. dark, light, beach, mahogany colored etc. etc.????? PLEASE HELP ME!!!! thank you alot.

Definately go with a light maple....It also looks more authentic for a laminate floor....Also, it will make the space look larger and lighten it up to balance with all those dark colors you have use on the walls...It will make a wonderful contrast...

wow if you wanna go all out i'd stain the floors purple but a chocolate brown floor would be good 2. make sure you have a lot of lighting in our room all that dark colors going to make you room look much smaller.you might want to consider doing the walls in chocolate and tan do the trim in tan also the you can do beach floor with a purple area rug and purple accents. Gl if you need any more help I love this stuff.

I would take the paint samples to the flooring store and maybe see what the woods look like against the colors or go to a website like DIY, or even a company that sells laminate flooring and look at the pics.I know you'll find something with those colors because they are so popular. my gut feeling is if you are doing it all dark then the floor would need to be on the darker side. Maybe not mahogany but not oak either. You will figure it out. good luck OH. also look at magazines. They have them at Lowe's and Grocery stores, look at them and get the idea you need. good luck.

Personal taste maybe..... but I think a floor in a colour that is lighter than the wall colour looks weird....
So you would have an already small-ish room full of dark colours, that is not a good idea. Since you seem to like brown, I would make the floor dark brown, and the wall in a lighter tone.

the small room will look smaller with the brown and purple so i would think you will need a lighter color to help. maybe something with and orange hue.
may be try alittle track lighting, hilighting art on the walls and a few table lamps

I suggest you re-think your choice of color if the room is Small your choice is going to make it feel and look even smaller. What ever you decide good luck!

the dark color will make it look smaller, but if you are going with it, then don't go with a floor that's too light, because then it won't work

i think a light color would be distracting, id try a dark mahogany or dark cherry
