You don't really have to choose one or the other just prioritize. Study during the week and hang out with your girlfriend on the week-end. You'll never be sixteen again, enjoy it while you can!

Don't wake up when you're 30 and realize that you didn't have any fun as a teenager. Dating is how you learn about the opposite sex and this is a time in your life when you don't have to get serious. Relationships will be be completely different when you do get serious--dating or married.

Find a girlfriend if you want one, but don't feel pressured to find someone just because your friends have girlfriends. As long as your grades aren't slipping, having a girlfriend shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think at 16 you need to worry at all. You are 16 for God's sake! You definitely do not need a serious relationship. You probably need a girl that is a friend to do things with and have fun. You definitely need good grades if you are planning on getting a college education. But your grades do not have to be perfect. Colleges are looking for well rounded students and I think that having a girlfriend would make you well rounded! You can have both.. so why stress... just sit back and enjoy being 16 because it will not happen again.

Are you serious. You have to college and get a job before or no give will want you.

Besides unless you go to the same college it's going to be very difficult to stay together when you graduate HS.

When you get to college then a girlfriend will be more important than grades, since I think it gets much harder to find someone special after you graduate from college.

At least in my case I was able to put together good grades w/ a great girlfriend in college. So there shouldn't be a conflict having both.

I am wondering if you are an adult or if you are 16?
Of course they should be worried about getting good grades, but if you had a 16 year old that only worried about their grades and not anything social wouldn't you worry????
I think most adults need to try and remember what it was like to be a teen. I'm not saying we need to let them forget what is important, but at least try to understand how they are feeling!

I'd say good grades. Getting into college is so much more competitive now. You'll have plenty of time to get a girlfriend. You might even find one who would be attracted to you because you concentrated on your grades.

Definitely go for the grades. A person has the rest of their life to pursue relationships and only 4 years to excel in high school.

Girlfriend. Grades can still be kept good. But why not have a girl also?

You should be more concered about getting good grades and passing school and getting a good job later in life then worry about getting a girl.

You'll never be able to keep a woman happy if you can't provide for her, so go for the grades now and the women will be even better when the time comes for that!
