This means that you may have some of their facial qualities. And that you don't LOOK like this person, but you will remind them of that person when they see you. And yes it is mostly a form of flattery (depending on who you favor...as long as it is not a "knuckle-dragger" AKA gorilla-face) LOL =P

It can mean that you look like someone else but more often it could be the way you act or carry yourself. I see a man every week when I'm out that favors someone I used to work with as far as the way he sits and similarity in his hairstyle and size but I looked at him closer the other day, and he doesn't actually look that much like the other guy as far as his actual face.

To favor someone, in the context of your question, means that you hold many of their physical attributes, .. and yes, if the person that you apparently 'favor' is attractive, then that is a huge compliment to you.

They mean that you look somewhat like this person. Maybe just by your expression or the shape of your face. I would take it as a compliment.

Let's pretend that there are three kids and a mom.Two of the kids always get in trouble and don't listen to her,but the other kid always listens, makes good grades, and never gets in trouble. So,the mom favors that child-meaning that the child is sorta her favorite out of the three.

It means that you have some of the other person's physical attributes (or behaviors). And yes, if the person they are referencing is good looking, you are being complimented.

it means you remind them of that person. It could be the way you move or talk. I don't think it is an insult, unless the person you favor is a jerk.
