What, another dud? Or if they actually exploded a nuclear device? Considering that there is a state of war between South Korea and North Korea and that the NORKs have about 13000 artillery tubes pointed across the border at Seoul, nuclear weapons matter less than how close the majority of the NORKs are to starvation. We know that they are growing smaller each generation due to malnutrition, we know that from space they look like a tribe of troglodytes, we know that Kim knows quite well how to manipulate the UN and the world press. North Korea has played its hand poorly, and it has two choices, aggravate or retreat. One leads to the nuclearization of South Korea and Japan, which China definitely doesn't want. One leads to the probable disintegration of the NORK feudal system, which China doesn't want. China wants the UN and the 6 party group to bail out Kim, and it is quite likely that due to our fear of Kim, we will subsidize that pissant dictator for a few more years.

They will gain more leverage in international diplomatic negotiations. They need money and food so will try to get it with war or blackmail of war. We never finished the Korean war . instead we split them in two and put our army on the border that was 50 years ago and we are still there. that is why we should not do that in Iraq as is being proposed.
we werer afaid that all the asian countries would turn comminist is we did not fight in Korea. NOW it does not matter as nobody really believes in communism anymore.
so we may as well pull our army out of south korea and let them finish their civil war we interrupted 50 years ago. let the chips fall where they may. it is their contry, not ours.
we can move that regular army to Iraq and give the poor national guard troops a rest ( some of them) Let the south Koreans deal with little Kim. its their problem.
In Iraq, we started the war so now we cannot back out. it is all our fault so we have to fix it. We should set up a new dictator who will be more cooperative with us in iraq. forget the whole democracy plan. that is a joke.

Then they'd have wasted that much more of their limited supply of 'nucular' material. If they conduct about 15 more tests, they won't have nukes anymore.

I dont know what will happen. I think they are just trying to see how far they can go without causing a war.

It is not a "bush" thing everyone is pissed at them, I hope they do so we can just end it, without a second test it would be harder for us to tear them apart with resistance...
