I was hit by a 15yr old girl (who did not have a Driver's License). She was driving her mother's car (she later came to the scene). This was at private property. The police man gave us a report to give to our insurance. Geico told me to contact the other vehicle owner's insurance (which I did and they opened a claim). My question is, how long does it normally take for them to get my car fixed? They have a local insurance, not a big company. Also, if they dont want to help me, which I was at no-fault in this accident, what can i do to get the money to repair my car. All help is appreciated because this is my first accident.

The girl's mom must file a claim with her insurance for you to collect. The mom's insurance will not pay if she doesn't. You may have to claim uninsured motorist on yours and this is your best attempt at getting any money to fix your car.
Tell your insurance company you want to claim uninsured motorist, if you have it. It only cost $12 of your 6 mos. premium. They just might send out a pay-up letter to mom to collect for you.
Good luck!

I also have Geico and was recently in an accident. A lot of it depends on what your coverage is. If you go through Geico, they are great. They will work on your claim, then go through the other person's insurance co. to reimburse them for what they paid out. However, if you have a high deductible or no rental car insurance (like me), then you may have to go through the other person's insurance. I have found that Geico is very helpful in working with them and being your advocate to get things done quickly.

How long it takes to get your car fixed depends. First of all, they don't fix your car. They appraise the damage and issue payment to you and you get your car fixed where you want. Secondly, if you don't get paid by them for some reason your only other option is to use your collision coverage with GEICO, if you have it. If you don't, then you would have to pursue the driver and owner of the other vehicle legally. You just need to call the other company and find out how to get the vehicle appraised by them so you can get the ball rolling.

The insurance co. must be weak.. I have Geico, and once i had a accident it was my fault, Geico paid it in two day's. I don't know if they had their car fixed or not, as it was just a side swipe. The car was still drive able. I know that they got 2500.00 for it. Geico is good. I don't know what co. the girl who hit your car had.

If you have full coverage on your vehicle then your insurance company should handle the claim for you. Mine always has..
