Think outside of the box with a costume. I've won two costume contests. The first, I had dressed up like a geisha girl and decorated my face carefully. The second, I was apart of a couple. I went as Christine from Phantom of the Opera.

My suggestion? Think of something that she likes and can do a costume on. One of my favorite things to do for Halloween costumes is to frankencostume, or take other bits of cheaper costumes to get the desired result.

Do not get the expensive pre-packaged costumes that boast a deluxe label on the bag.

Just make sure you decide on which catagory to go with. Then go from there. Frankencostuming helps and making things from simple, easy to obtain materials makes costumes great.

The costume should reflect your daughter's personality. I did a little searching on the web and what I came up was an Artist Halloween Costume. I love the idea of the paint splattered smock, oversized paint palette, and beret. I hadn't seen or heard of this costume idea before. You don't want her to go as a princess or angel and have the same idea as half the other girls there.

Check out the link for more details. Good luck and Happy Halloween!

I'm sure she is pretty so why not have her get all dolled up in a beautiful dress (you can even find one at a thrift store) and I have noticed at wal-mart a piece of material that says beauty queen (it is a sash) that goes across the body . You know?
Or you could probably make one out of a piece of gold material, or black and use a marker and try to write big fancy letters on it.

Just an idea..good luck, hope she wins!!

let her go as cinderella and dress her up to her prettiest dress and all. i think that would be a good costume and age appropriate or you can go with what she wants...
