my boyfriend just told me last night that he is so busy with work and realized he does not have time for a serious relationship. he said that he does not have the time it requires to keep a girlfriend and never intended to hurt me and that he loves me. he said this is not the end and you never know what can happen in the future. does this sound legit or like an excuse?

I think it sounds more like an excuse. If he truly loved you, he would try to find time to be with you, even if it's just a short time on the weekends, and I think he would find you to be a welcomed relief from the stress of work, instead of pushing you away.

Let him make all the excuses he wants. The bottom line is he wants out of the relationship. Do you really want to be with somebody after they tell you they don't have time for you. At least he is being honest. Even if it is buls***. So what if he wants someone ells and that's the only way he can let you go. Let him go. K.I.M. (keep it moving) Just do you till you find someone that has time for you. He will probably come crawling back than tell him you don't have time.

this might be true. I mean if he does work 40 or more hours in a week, I would be exhausted and would not be able to juggle both. Maybe he just needs some space and that is why he is telling you it is not going to work out. My bf works full time and I only get to see him on Sat and Sun, otherwise we are both busy, but the reason we can do this and not get upset with one another is because we have been together for 4yrs.

It sounds to me like a serious line of BS. When guys don't want commitment but they want to keep you on the back burner, they always hit you with this excuse. If he really loved you, he would MAKE the time. He is telling you this to give you false hope that it could happen someday. He wants to keep you as a backup. I know that it's hard but you have to tell him to hit the road. You deserve way better than this line of crap that he's giving you.

well it can go either way, without knowing how your relationship was previous to this happening I can say for sure. if you know for a fact that his work can't make him that busy or he's been giving you other hints that he just doesn't want to be with you then it's probably just B.S. but if you think it could be legit then maybe it is....no way for us to relly know....but usually there is some degree of the man not wanting the relationship, if he really wanted it he would make it work.

Sounds like he wants out of the relationship and is trying to let you down easy. If he realley cares he will make the time for you.
start dating others and move on with your life. If he realley cares he will come back to you with plenty of time to make the relationship work

B.S. i completely think so. You can always make time for someone. Also.. the whole maybe something can happen in the future is so cliche.

Sounds real to me. Not ALL guys are scum bags after all. Stay in touch with him and see where things go from there. Besides maybe you'll find someone new before he does :)
