I would like ot hear from the girls to see what the response would be. What could I do to find a date, I don't drink often and dont really care to hang out in the bars. Im right into my early 40's and don't remember what to do ha-ha-ha. I use to be really SHY when it came to women but am getting a lot more open because of my age. Where and how would I aproach a woman without really feeling like a total dumb as* and how would I know if she really is interested once I start talking. I'm just reaching for some ideas here ha-ha ... Anything would help! Thanks in advance!

You need to look for a friend type. Someone who enjoys the same hobbies and activities you do. Start there. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just be yourself. Life has a way of directly you to where you need to be.

Try Match.com. I found it a little better than the yahoo service. You can try both if you want. But be sure to include a good pic. If you are embarassed, just log on and take a look. A lot of perfectly normal and successful people are using it as a way to just meet people. My 50-some year old boss, who was also recently divorced, was having a blast doing it and met lots of fine ladies (according to him). Good luck!

Find some social activity that is acceptable to you ...like go bowling with a guy friend...or go to bingo or some activity that you like. Then meet people by having normal conversation and take it from there. You'll be surprised that you'll find a date when you least expect it...so don't go getting all specailly dressed or anything ...women can SPOT you trolling for a date and it's a turn off....just be yourself and women will respond.

You might try joining a special interest club (i.e. skiing, bowling, etc.). You'd be surprised how many single women are active in these clubs. Mostly because they are looking for a man. Or try enrolling cooking class at your local junior college or at Williams Sonoma.

Try not to have an agenda when you decide to talk to someone. Just make a casual comment without any expectation back- get comfortable just talking to women without making them feel like you want to go out with them. You will know if she likes to be around you if she continues to talk back. If not, she will depart.
