I recently moved from a home that had really bad well water. You know the kind that smells like sulphur when you turn it on? It has turned my natrally platinum blond hair, rust orange. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. I tried a malibu treatment a a salon but it only lightened it. My natural color has grown about three inches but the rest is awful. Please help!

Try a mixture of clarifying shampoo and baking soda, the shampoo will loosen the iron and the mild abrasiveness of the baking soda will help scrub out the build up on you hair. you want to make a paste like consistency and let the mixture sit on your hair for about 3 min and then scrub really well, rinse and repeat. if that does not help try adding a small amount of acetone polish remover to the mixture. make sure you condition really well after either treatments

Try oily treatments. Mix oatmeal (unprepared), olive oil, and avacado in a bowl and refrigerate for about half an hour. When you shampoo your hair, put this in your hair along with the shampoo. Wash it out, and then condition as usual. Try this every other time you wash your hair. The rusty color should come out within a few weeks. Probably one or two.

Clarifying Shampoo might remove the extra buildup.
