FOIL is an acronym. It stands for First, Outer, Inner, Last
For this problem, it would look something like this:
3x * 3x = 9x^2
3x * 4y = 12xy
-4y * 3x = -12xy
-4y * 4y = -16y^2
and you would write it out like this:
9x^2 +12xy -12xy -16y^2
You would do the math you could, then, and it would look like this:
9x^2 - 16y^2
Here's where I am having a hard time remembering, but I think that would be your answer. I hope this helps. I haven't done FOIL problems for a while, so it's a little fuzzy.
By the way: x^2 and y^2 means x squared and y squared. In case you didn't know.

First, Outer, Inner, Last. Do 3x*3x plus 3x*4y plus -4y*3x and finally -4y*4y. Then simplify.
