What's the question here? Is the question,"Can BPD be mistaken as depression?" Yes, the same thing happened to me! This is a mistake doctor's often make! You didn't say what meds. you have been on. I currently take Risperdal. It works pretty well for me. I hope you get the meds. straightened out! Good Luck...

honestly Thomas there are classifications Bipolar I, II and Bipolar NOS are classifications and NOS method Not Otherwise Specified which will incorporate swings that do not always fall into the traditional classifications Moodiness is what the Q is looking approximately despite the fact that so he's prolly simply being a troll Sam: Classic BP one million does not require speedy temper swings and I feel you best ought to have had one manic episode to categorise as Bipolar. Other depressive episodes will also be occasional and final months (or now not) Bipolar generally is a difficult situation to spot in a individual. The speedy biking temper fluctuations arise in Rapid Cycling BPD best require temper switches a couple of occasions a yr. Weekly and sometlmes day-to-day fluctuations are the extremely good-speedy swings visible in Ultradian BPD Goodness I simply gave a lecture at the field. Steps off podium and bursts out guffawing. Cries. Weeps. Laughs.

I'm bi-polar and suffer from depression. I used to be just like that, with the constant mood swings, and never remembering to take the meds, and thinking the counselors were stupid. But as long as my mom reminds me to take my meds, it's all good. Turns out, as long as the Bi-polar is under control, I'm ok. But if I skip a pill, I get all out of whack again.
Both things are chemical imbalances that need to be regulated. Maybe they just haven't found the right medicines for your chemicals yet. Don't give up! There is hope! Trust me, I know! :)

I was dignosted when i was 13 i have tried every pill on earth try ZYPERXA its the only thing that ever worked. Its very expensive though. Also try seeing a councler there are ways other then medications to control Bi-polar. Dont use it as an easy excuse to take things out on other people. I feel that some people make it out to be so much more then it is.

You need to find a different doctor. I have bipolar and sounds like you have it too. You need to find a good doctor and tell her everything you are experincing, from mood swings to depresion. I take three different times of medication and have a hard time remembering to take them. Get your self a weekly pill box. I don't know how many meds your taking or how often you take them. I set my alarm on my cell phone to go off every six hours(when I have to take my meds). There are many websites about bipolar you can go too and take a test to see if you have the effects of bipolar. But first, find yourself another doctor and explain to her everything thats going on. Best of luck to you.

A counsellor is not qualified to make a diagnosis. You need a proper diagnosis from a qualified psychiatrist, and you need to take (and keep taking) the meds prescribed. None of the meds will ever work unless you take them regularly, and if you are bipolar it is very easy to stop taking them because you are feeling OK.

Mood swings and anger are part of depression. People with depression do not feel depressed all the time. If you disagree with your therapist, tell him or her why you disagree and talk about it. You can also ask for a refferal to another doctor. I don't know why anyone would want to be or insist that they are bipolar though.

i am bipolar and with your mood swings it sounds as if u might be also.i am no doc but have been trying to find the right combination of drugs to treat the bipolar and depression for 2 years now..sometimes more than 1 drug is needed and if you are serious about conquering this(and i know its hard)you will have to find a doc u are comfy with and get honest and start taking your meds on time otherwise you are just wasting your time and money..not to mention the stress you might be causing your family.i put my family thru hell before i finally got serious about my diagnosis(and i didnt think i was putting them thru hell)thats the sad part

Well how can you really know if you can't remember to take the meds prescribed?? They may have helped but you will never know unless you give it more effort. If you think the therapist is wrong talk about it or seek another therapist.

Hi, try this as it works for me. Drink a glass of milk (from milk powder) everyday esp those that has been fortified with omega 3. Milk contains all the essential vitamins such as Vit B, magnesium and they are all good for the brain.Milk also contains HIGH level of Tryptorphan which convert to serotonin in your body and helps to raise your moods naturally. I suggest this coz anti-depressant drugs are made from Tryptorphan. I rather take natural food rather than taking pills. You need to drink everyday cause our body dun store vit B.

By the way, limited caffeine in your diet, else it will make it worst.
