They believe(at least I think this) that Santa Claus and Christmas is a tradition and is just a fun day to have! They figure why not? I would do the same if I was an atheist, but luckily I found a purpose to live. =]

I put up my pagan Christmas tree, decorate the house with pagan holly leaves, burn my pagan yule log...

Christmas is a secular enough holiday at this point that I have no problem with a majority of the traditions. Santa rocks as far as I am concerned, as a symbol of joy and generosity. I love taking time out to spend with the people I love in warmth and comfort, and with good wine and food at hand. And I love giving and receiving gifts, especially well chosen ones that show how well the giver knows the receiver's wishes.

Jesus' ascribed birthday is just one part og the holiday season... *NOT* the "reason for the season" as many a bumper sticker would have us believe. I am pleased to see my Christian sister's family celebrating something that is important to them and binds them together, but it is not the only thing to be celebrated during the season of light.

Oh, and I also make *amazing* gingerbread houses!

The same way anyone else celebrates...nobody, even those who are not Atheists, celebrate Christmas as Christ's birthday. Everyone celebrates it with food and presents, it's not a religious holiday anymore, it's a commercial one.

Well I'm kind of an atheist, and I although I don't celebrate the Jesus side of Christmas, I still have a Christmas tree, just cause they're fun. Christmas trees are actually a pagan symbol.

With a Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Christmas cookies, Christmas presents, and Christmas dinners.

Why do you think we celebrate it any differently?

yep, besides if u want to get technical, christmas is not really a christian religion, but rather it was adopted from pagan religions by constantine. so the real question is should be how DO christians celebrate christmas? when christ's real birthday is believed to be in march. i love christmas, and while i enjoy the religious attachment it has, i enjoy even more the emotional and physical attachment to those you care about, its really one of my favorite holidays.

Giving gifts, big meals, that sorta thing. Spending time with family more than anything.

Though my family's christmas dinner happens to be steak and king crab, not turkey or ham. When my father was stationed in Germany, my parents asked my sister and I what we wanted for dinner our first christmas there... just being young kids, we figured we'd go for the gold and demanded steak and crab. It's been over 20 years and yet we still do it. :)

They don't celebrate Christmas where I live now and never give any holidays for it.

These kinds of questions always make me wonder about the sanity of the asker.

They celebrate just like everyone else. They get together with family, open presents, and have turkey/ham dinner.

Usually we put up a fake plastic tree, put lights on it, a few weeks later when the kids are asleep we put toys and presents under the tree. The next day the kids open the presents and we lie to them by saying a guy named Santa Claus put them there.

By catching up on the latest articles on Darwin and evolution. What do you think we do. We get a day off and enjoy it with family and friends. Just like all the non Christians who get the day off.
